Activity Coordinator Training
An empowering training for new Activity Coordinators and old hands alike
- What can I expect on the day?
The day is very practical. Around 50% of the day covers training in general, activites and the practicalities of working with people living with dementia. The remaining 50% of the day looks at how to best use resources (The Daily Sparkle is used as the practical example). However, the content is layered, covering aspects of both the above rather than trying to keep them separate. You can find a training day course outline here
- What will I get on completion of the training?
You will be presented with a Training Certificate which can be used with your Continuous Personal Development log. You will also be able to support one another in a peer-to-peer activity coordinators group.
- How can I book my place?
You can book a place at www.dailysparkle.co.uk/shop1. Numbers are limited and unfortunately we cannot reserve places. Payment must be taken at point of booking.
- How can I pay?
We only accept payment by Credit or Debit card via our booking page here
- The training is showing as Sold Out, is there a reserve list?
Unfortunately, as places are strictly limited they do tend to sell out quickly. If you would like to be put on a reserve list incase of a cancellation you can do so here and use the form at the bottom of the page.
- I am interested in the training but there isn't one in my area at the moment. Will you be coming to a town near me?
If you would like to register your interest in having training in your area please do let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org
- What is the cancellation policy for the training?
Cancel more than 2 weeks before training date = 100% refund
Cancel 1-2 weeks before training date - 50% refund
Cancel less than week before training date = No refund
Over the past 12 years we have heard from over 6,500 Activity Coordinators from all parts of the UK. Some were new to the role of Activity Coordinator and others were 'old hands'. They’ve told us what they want and need, which is to be able to do their work in the very best way so they can have the very happiest residents.
They told us they wanted more support, ideas and confidence in their roles as activity coordinators. They also wanted to know how to keep activity records as needed by the CQC and how to make activity plans. They also wanted happy residents and care home staff. With this in mind Suzanne Mumford, a Dementia Nurse Specialist and CQC Specialist Nurse Advisor (Dementia), has developed an Activity Coordinator training that will empower you.
