Every month we donate £300 to a worthy charity, chosen by a different member of our team each time. This month, we are donating to equine charity Foxdale Equine Assisted Learning, chosen by Robyn Taylor, who works in sales and admin and writes a monthly column for our Hub. She also used to be an activities coordinator. Foxdale offer equine therapy and work mainly with people living with dementia, users of mental health services, people with disabilities, people living with brain injuries and children with developmental delays. It is based in a peaceful, natural environment with an abundance of wildlife, a wooded area and an eco pond.
Robyn says: “This is local to where I live, and I used to take residents from the care home I worked in. Each week we would take a few residents living with dementia to interact with the horses and be in a scenic environment. This experience built their confidence and over time you could see the many benefits it had for each person. All the members are volunteers and they are so kind, caring and compassionate. The work they do is wonderful!”
